Idlers, drive pulleys, bend (snub) pulleys and slatted pulleys
There are several types of conveyor belts: drive pulley that moves the belt; idler pulley that regulates belt tension; bend (or snub) pulley that deflects the belting or presses the bottom branch of the belt near the drive pulley. Drive pulleys have a small camber (1,5... 3 mm) for centering of the belt on the pulley. Pulleys are made of cast iron, welded of sheet steel or ready-made pipes. To improve coupling of pulley with the belt, its working surface fettled with rubber. Pulleys with a diameter of 2 00 … 1400 mm and 500 ….1600 mm long are available. Slatted custom-made pulleys are available. Working surface of slatted pulleys consists of slats (racks). Such pulleys are used for loads that might damage a belt (sticky loads) or when conveyor operates in corrosive environment (wet, dust etc.).
